Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards are visionaries who’s talent and imagination enabled them to write and produce hit songs that sold millions of records.
Bernard and Nile co-founded CHIC and together they changed the game in ways that not even they could imagine. When they wrote the #1 smash hit “Good Times” they had no idea it would change the course of pop culture and American history.
Months after “Good Times” became a #1 smash around the world, 3 upstarts from New Jersey called the SUGAR HILL GANG went into a studio and recited rhymes all over CHIC’s hit song.
This was unprecedented and totally unconventional to mainstream America. CHIC nor their record label Atlantic were never notified. Unapologetically with no sample clearance, SUGAR HILL GANG was all over the radio rhyming over CHIC’s hit song and they called it “Rapper’s Delight”.
Eventually deals were made, business got handled correctly and “Rapper’s Delight” went on to sell 14 million copies! Chic’s hit song “Good Times” is single handedly the creative foundation for this multibillion dollar industry now known as hip hop.
Nile Rodgers is a rock and roll hall of famer who has scored blockbuster movies and sold over 500 million records he’s produced with artists such as Daft Punk, Pharrell and Dream. Nile recently won a Grammy for the ong “Cuff It” with Beyonce.
Nile Rodgers infinite creativity, tenacity and longevity is why he is the Alpha Omega, Legend of da Game. The music and film projects Nile has coming out for 2024 and 2025 are incredible and will continue to dominate the charts and shock the world.
